Position: 3D Compositor

Position Summary:

We are seeking a talented and experienced 3D Compositor to join our team, preferably with experience working in feature films. The role involves the final stages of the visual effects pipeline, where all shot elements are manipulated and combined to form the final image. This process includes working with blue/green screen foregrounds, matte extraction, photo-realistic scenes and props, debris, fluid simulations, and matte paintings. The 3D Compositor will fine-tune the qualities of light, shadow, color, and composition, and execute crisp editing to bring together the entire sequence into a desired movie. As mini-producers of each shot, compositors are ultimately responsible for the shot's successful and timely completion, ensuring the atmospheric, camera, lens, and other effects are controlled to heighten realism.

Key Responsibilities:

• Combine various visual elements from different sources to create a final image that looks seamless, ensuring it matches the artistic vision and style of the project.
  
• Work with blue/green screen elements, performing matte extractions and integrating photo-realistic scenes and props.
  
• Apply adjustments to light, shadow, color, and composition to achieve high-quality visual outputs.
  
• Execute debris and fluid simulations, matte paintings, and integrate them into the final composition.
  
• Utilize atmospheric, camera, lens, and other photographic effects to enhance realism.
  
• Perform crisp editing to compile the entire sequence into the final film, ensuring a coherent and impactful narrative flow.
  
• Collaborate with directors, other VFX artists, and production teams to understand and meet the project's creative vision.
  
• Continuously update skills and knowledge on the latest compositing software and techniques.
  

Essential Qualifications:

• 0-7 years of compositing and editing experience in a visual effects studio.
  
• A professional demo reel showcasing the ability to solve complex compositing problems, including "before" and "after" shots or layer build-ups when possible.
  
• Proficiency in After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro, and comfortable working in a Motion Graphics environment.
  
• Experience with 2.5D/3D Compositing and Motion Graphics.
  

Skills Required:

• Strong artistic skills, with an excellent eye for detail, color, composition, and lighting.
  
• Proficient in compositing software, particularly After Effects and Adobe Premiere Pro.
  
• Ability to solve complex visual effects problems and propose creative solutions.
  
• Excellent time management and organizational skills to meet tight deadlines.
  
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with a positive attitude towards feedback and collaborative work.
  
• A passion for filmmaking and a continuous desire to learn and improve skills.
  

Additional Requirements:

• A portfolio or reel that demonstrates an understanding of digital shadows and compositing Lighting and FX elements.
  
• Willingness to work flexible hours to meet project deadlines.
  
• A degree in Visual Effects, Animation, Film, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
