What success looks like in this role:


Position Overview


As Azure AVD support engineer, you are responsible to support Client’s Azure AVD infrastructure. As L3 engineer taking care of day-to-day service requests, incident tickets and change request pertaining to AVD. You should hands-on expertise in troubleshooting all the issues and resolving day to day user related support pertaining to AVD hosted solutions. of Azure Virtual Desktop solutions. This role demands a deep understanding of Azure services, virtualization technologies, and a track record of successfully architecting and managing complex AVD environments.


You will be part of a high-performance team and collaborate to deliver high satisfaction enabled client support. You will participate in the all-client delivery connects ensuring perception of client is always maintained at positive levels.


Key Responsibilities:


·To manage and support AVD Session Pools having the Session Hosts deployed where Session Desktops (Virtual Desktops) and RemoteApps are hosted.


·Manage the AVD Master Images located in the Azure Compute Gallery as part of regular Image updates, Application management and Optimization.


·Configure and manage Session Pools based on the Sizing-requirement.


·Should have hands on experience on Scaling of Azure resources.


·Should have knowledge on managing Network and Storage resources where AVD Environment is configured to.


·Good knowledge in managing Subscriptions and Respective Resource Groups.


·Hands-on experience on FSLogix management and policies.


·Collaborate with Cross functional teams like Endpoint Operations teams for Applications deployments and updates, Security tools management like Antivirus and Auditing tools. Provide timely and effective technical support to clients using Azure Virtual Desktop.


·Diagnose and resolve issues related to virtual desktop connectivity, performance, and application functionality.


·Create and update knowledge base articles and user guides to facilitate self-service for clients and to ensure shift left to Service desk (especially those related to user reported issues and are recurring).


·Work closely with Microsoft support teams to escalate and resolve issues that require higher-level intervention.


·Conduct training sessions to the internal AVD team as part of cross skill program.


·Participate in all Service Management Office meetings especially lead the CAB meetings to represent AVD support change requests.


·Regularly update operations manual with all the changes happens as part of change management process.


Other Critical Skills for AVD Engineer:


·Good knowledge in managing Subscriptions and Respective Resource Groups.


·Windows Operating system:


·In-depth knowledge and experience on Windows Server and Windows 10/11 Operating systems.


·L3 level troubleshooting skills on OS related issues including Analysis skills and performance tuning.


·Good understanding of Client-Server architecture with respect to OS Components.


·Good knowledge on deploying OS updates and Security updates through Configuration Management tools like SCCM, MECM, Intune etc...


·Windows Active Directory


·Good understanding on Active Directory Users and Computer objects.


·Manage Group Policies Objects configured for AVD Environment.


·Should have knowledge on Endpoint Operations tools like MECM, Antivirus, MDM, etc.


·Strong understanding of networking, security, and infrastructure components in the cloud.


·Experience with remote desktop services and protocols.


·Knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., Hyper-V).

You will be successful in this role if you have:


  • Minimum experience 4+ years’ experience working on AVD support.
  • Strong verbal and written skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Alliance to Google, AWS, Azure, and other progressive cloud/container vendors is a requirement.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud IaaS and PaaS.
  • Demonstrate knowledge on Cloud transformations services suite end to end.
  • Strong understanding of networking, security, and infrastructure components in the cloud.
  • Knowledge of networking technologies and cloud networking
  • Knowledge on emerging solutions, roadmap, and the business applications of technology.
  • Recognized thought leadership both internally and externally.
  • Must be certified on Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop Administration.
