Job Description
Project Description Building Water Infrastructure (BWI) Task Order is an Architecture and Engineering (A&E) services agreement for conducting planning, engineering designs, construction supervision, and related support in the water and wastewater field.
Primary Responsibilities:
In this position, the Construction Engineer will report to the Construction Manager and will be responsible on daily site management and oversight of subcontractor, with a focus on safety, quality control, risk management, and environmental compliance and as follows:
• Ensure all Contractor invoices are verified and represent actual field conditions/progress and propose variation orders/claims/adjustments as required.
• Report contractual and construction issues and concerns as they arise and provide timely alternative corrective measures & solutions to address concerns.
• Verify and approve measurement sheet submitted by the Contractor.
• Review and provide input supported with documentation on variation order requests, extension of time requests, and request for information, claims, payment applications and all other related project correspondences and activities.
• Inspect material as it is delivered to site to confirm that it is as per approved material submittal.
• Review third party QA/QC reports and provide input.
• Provide initial input to Contractor’s submittals referencing the contract requirements.
• Conduct daily site visits and collect samples and information.
• Coordinate with all related authorities.
• Perform and document inspections of construction and infrastructure works of basic to high complexity.
• Report and provide initial evaluation of potential defects within the work.
• Analyze data related to the project assignments when required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited University.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience with primary focus on water and wastewater networks.
• Prior experience working at a multinational organization or with engineering consulting firms.
• Expert knowledge of MS. software.
• Good experience with working on AutoCAD.
• Demonstrated ability to direct, guide, train, and mentor staff on project.
• Ability to successfully manage multiple assignments.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
• Capacity to identify issues, propose solutions, and make informed decisions.
• Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet project assignments deadlines.
• Strong communication skills in English and Arabic (speaking, reading and writing) is required
• Proven excellence in report writing skills is required.
• Registration as a member of the Jordan Engineers Association
• Individual must hold Jordanian citizenship and be legally authorized to work in Jordan.
