Motor Underwriter - Senior Officer

A leading General Insurance company is looking for a Motor Underwriter - Senior Officer, who will effectively collaborate with the underwriting team and various departments to support the execution of the overall business strategy and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure all motor insurance quotations are approved in a timely manner, in compliance with underwriting guidelines.
  
• To enter direct policies (Direct, corporate customers).
  
• Assist with all motor endorsements and ensure updates with RTA.
  
• Be responsive via emails and telephone calls with brokers, development staff, and customers.
  
• Providing maximum support to brokers and development staff to achieve and retain existing business.
  
• To coordinate with the finance department for feedback on outstanding premiums on motor insurance policies before approving any policy. (Direct, corporate customer).
  
• Assist in the achievement of annual business targets.
  
• To coordinate with the IT department to resolve portal related issues.
  
• Coordination with the team, broker relationship officer, development staff, and other departments to meet management objectives.
  

• Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Business (Analytics)/Economics/Actuarial Science or equivalent.
  
• Minimum 5 years of working experience in the motor insurance industry as an Underwriter.
  
• Underwriting technical knowledge in motor insurance, in particular private motor.
  
• Strong numerical and analytical skills to identify trends and propose solutions.
  
• Working knowledge of Power BI/dashboarding tools and MS Excel will be highly advantageous.
  
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills (written and spoken).
  
• Highly meticulous, accountable, and results-oriented.
  
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, making quick decisions while adhering to sound underwriting discipline.
