About the job Senior Project Manager Delivery Management

Job Purpose:


  • To lead development projects, taking responsibility for end-to-end service delivery, often with respect to large or complex projects.
  • To act as the key, day to day project interface, ensuring that client objectives are met and that projects are delivered to time and cost targets and the appropriate quality standards.

General Description of Role and Responsibilities:


  • Advising at a strategic level at the project conception stage, including providing advice on the different approaches that can be adopted in order to successfully achieve the project objectives
  • Leading the establishment of the overall success criteria for the project, including time, cost, technical and performance parameters
  • Manage the design process from Vision to IFC ensuring the design is delivered to the required brief and that the budgets are being maintained.
  • Preparing and presenting projects through stage gate approval process in coordination with all internal departments and the project consultants
  • Undertake planned Value Engineering options on all projects to ensure the best value is achieved.
  • Assist in the preparation of consultant lists
  • Assist in the preparation of contractor lists
  • Planning for and the ongoing management of quality, safety, health and environment issues
  • Establishing effective project governance, processes and systems to be utilized throughout project
  • Project planning, including ensuring the production of the detailed delivery strategy
  • Advising upon the procurement of resources
  • Leading and facilitating the overall cross-functional project team or sections of a major project as directed by the Project Director.
  • Monitoring and applying performance management techniques, including the use ofKPI's to improve project performance
  • Managing the change control process
  • Monitoring and advising upon project finances in conjunction with the cost consultant
  • Managing the flow of project information between the team and the client, through regular meetings and written communications
  • Ensuring the production of formal project progress and other reports
  • Taking a leading role in interfacing with project stakeholders, at all project stages
  • Preparing and presenting projects through stage gate approval process in coordination with all internal departments and the project consultants
  • Manage the interface between construction and asset management to ensure smooth and orderly transition of assets from contractor to operator
  • Actively manage the defects liability period ensuring all issues are dealt with immediately.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:


  • Recognized degree in a construction related activity such as Civil engineering, Construction management, Quantity and Building surveying, architecture or Structural, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.
  • Member of a recognized professional body such as RIBA, CIOB, RICS
  • 10 years in a similar role, good communicator, Client facing, commercially aware, with the ability to either actively work as part of a team or to work as the team leader and inspire the team to success.
