    Our Oilfield Services business provides intelligent, connected technologies to monitor and control our energy extraction assets. Our Digital Team partners with business units and clients to develop software and technical innovation. We collaborate with our development teams in science, mechanical and electrical engineering, physics, and geoscience to develop innovative software.

    As Enterprise Cloud Architect, you will be working on highly complex projects that require in-depth domain knowledge or two or more specialized architecture areas. You will be responsible for driving the design and development efforts related to architecture, scalability, availability, and performance alignment with the product roadmap. You may interact w/ functional leaders to support broad technical initiatives. It includes liaising with other functions across Baker Hughes, as well as engagement with suppliers and some engagement with external customers.


    As Enterprise Cloud Architect, you will be responsible for


  • Conducting architectural evaluation, design, and analysis of organization-wide systems throughout OFS Digital
  • Identifying customer’s nonfunctional requirements, analyzing alternatives, and conducting product recommendations related to software, platform, and deployment configurations.
  • Facilitating Architecture and Security reviews
  • Ensuring application architecture team delivers robust system solutions to meet business and Security and Compliance requirements.
  • Developing, enhancing, and maintaining established service design procedures and processes
  • Working closely with Enterprise Architect within Portfolio Architect team to assure constant compliance of strategic road map and architecture.
  • Performing as member of high-performance architecture team supporting business-oriented project development effort
  • Preparing and presenting technical presentations, lab reports, analyst briefings, and/or white papers to respond to different requirements from production lines and organizational initiatives.
  • Collaborating with software development teams to ensure that architectural solutions can be successfully implemented.
  • Monitoring configuration management, platform layout, and hosting infrastructure.
  • Automating deployment of applications and infrastructure
  • Communicate effectively and proactively at all levels with cross-functional internal and external stakeholders and clients to develop and implement solutions.
  • Understanding market trends in the broader energy sector and reporting relevant customer feedback to the Product team to inform development roadmaps.
  • Supporting the conversion of requirements into user stories for the software development team to consume in our agile software development process.
  • Be able to work independently and in a team, environment managing a range of customers and technical situations.
  • Designing solutions with increasing complexity and scale, from simple environments to complex multi-site enterprises.
  • Identifying and escalating business and technical opportunities as appropriate.

    To be successful in this role you will:


  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college or high school diploma/GED and equivalent experience
  • Have 10+ years of architecture experience in a complex and multi-platform distributed environment.
  • Have Experience implementing and operating real time applications and acquisition systems.
  • Have Oil & Gas Industry knowledge of operators, and service companies
  • Have Oil & Gas Industry IT knowledge of software developers, standards, and libraries
  • Have proven technical expertise in your primary development language. Our stack is C# / .NET / Java / React / Python Azure/AWS
  • Having experience in multiple stacks is a major plus
  • Have Extensive experience in Infrastructure as Code and Configuration as Code (Terraform, Cloud formation, Ansible, etc)
  • Have prior experience architecting and implementing continuous integration and continuous delivery
  • Must have in-depth experience with many products from at least one cloud providers
  • Have more than one cloud provider experience a major plus
  • Have Knowledge of cloud and data center architecture and infrastructure such as network, load balancers, clusters, storage solutions, etc.
  • Have Knowledge of project Management and Process Improvement standards Including PMI/PMP, Waterfall, Agile, Lean Six Sigma
  • Have Experience with modern Architecture principles: µServices, Containers, K8, Cloud IaaS, Cloud PaaS, Parallel Processing (Big Data).
  • Have extensive experience with linux containers
  • Have experience with deploying and operating multiple highly available Kubernetes clusters.
  • Have experience with Helm charts
  • Have knowledge of vintage architecture principles a plus: Fat Client, N-Tier, Client-Server, SOA.
  • Multiple Languages: C/C++, .Net, Java, Javascript, Python, Go, Rust and others.
  • Open Source Stacks: Apache, CNCF and others
