Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Power BI Developer/ Visualization Expert and data analyst to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of Power BI development and data visualization techniques to transform complex datasets into actionable insights. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, design, and implement BI solutions that empower decision-making and strategic planning. The candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end development of Power BI reports and dashboards, including data modelling, data analysis, and presentation of insights in a user-friendly manner.

Responsibilities

- Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI to meet business requirements.

- Connect to various data sources, import data, and transform data for Business Intelligence.

- Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.

- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.

- Filter and “clean” data.

- Work closely with management to prioritize business and information needs.

- Implement row-level security on data and understand application security layer models in Power BI.

- Develop calculated measures and columns with DAX in Power BI Desktop.

- Optimize Power BI dashboards with a focus on usability, performance, flexibility, testability, and standardization.

- Ensure data accuracy and integrity by implementing quality checks and balances.

- Provide training and support to business users on Power BI usage and best practices.

- Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in BI technologies and Power BI updates to enhance reporting capabilities continuously.

- Collaborate with stakeholders to continuously improve data visualization and reporting solutions.

- Document and maintain the technical specifications and architectural designs for BI solutions.

Skills and Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.

- Proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst.

- Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining, and segmentation techniques.

- Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc), databases (SQL etc), programming (XML, JavaScript, or ETL frameworks).

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.

- Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings.

- Overall, 7-8 years of relevant experience.

- 5+ years of experience in a Power BI development role, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality BI solutions.

- Expertise in using Power BI and its advanced features, including DAX, Power Query, and data modelling.

- Strong understanding of data visualization principles and the ability to convey complex data insights in a clear and concise manner.

- Experience in SQL and familiarity with relational, multidimensional, and OLAP databases and schemas.

- Proficiency in data analysis and manipulation with a keen eye for detail.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think analytically.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at various levels.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
 

 Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in data warehousing and business intelligence platforms.

- Certifications in Power BI or other BI tools.

- Knowledge of Python or R for data analysis and visualization would be an asset.

- Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and services related to data ingestion, storage, and analysis.

- Understanding of machine learning algorithms and their application in business intelligence.
