QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent area; master's degree is a plus
- 16+ years of total experience in software development with 10+ years hands-on experience in software architecture having lead teams of senior architects
- 5+ years of experience in architecting SaaS/Web based customer facing products, leading engineering teams as a software/technical architect
- Proven track record of delivering data-driven secure software solutions preferably within large enterprise context
- Broad working experience across multiple programming languages and frameworks with in-depth experience in one or more of the following: .Net, Java, Node.js, Scala or Go-lang
- Hands-on experience with relational databases like SQL Server, PostgreSQL and document stores like Elasticsearch or MongoDB
- Hands-on experience with Big Data processing technologies like Spark or Databricks and visualization tools like PowerBI
- Hands-on experience with container technologies like Docker, Kubernetes
- Experience in engineering practices such as code refactoring, microservices, design and enterprise integration patterns, test and design driven development, continuous integration, ETL designs, building highly scalable applications, application and infrastructure security
- Strong cloud infrastructure experience with Azure cloud
- Experience in building event driven systems and working with message queues/topics
- Knowledge of Agile software development process
- Ability to manage own learning and contribute to functional knowledge building

WHAT YOU'LL DO
You will be a leader of Periscope’s technology team with responsibilities that range from shaping and implementing strategic products to ensuring that McKinsey’s craft stays on the leading edge of data and technology.
You will have a hands-on role in leading the technology direction of Growth, Marketing & Sales (GM&S) practice. You will be involved in leading complex software development teams and products in a hands-on manner. Working closely with our Solution teams, your expertise will expand into Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Big data analytics, Cloud Native technologies, DevOps and other domains.
As a Chief Architect for one of our largest product suites, you will lead a team of Architects with goal to connect and integrate different products so they work seamlessly exchanging data and context. You will define a plan for technical roadmaps across products working with architects and drive the organization to move towards a certain future state. As part of the journey, you will proactively engage with product and technical stakeholders proposing solutions to their emerging challenges and needs.
You will be creating and reviewing Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) with an eye on the long-term technology strategy and architecture. You will review engineering practices and advice on improving it and adopting modern ways of working. You will lead the adoption of technical standards and best practices to improve our organizational capability.
You will be an active learner, keep abreast of new technologies and ways of working that might be beneficial to the organization. You will develop a growth mindset and relish opportunities to use familiar and unfamiliar technologies, closed source and open source software, and develop better approaches to solving business and technical challenges.
