The Boeing Company, Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (SEIT) team is currently looking for Associate /Mid Level/Senior Systems Engineer - MBSE to support Systems Architecture and Design, System Level Requirements Development and Decomposition to Lower Level Requirements, System Safety Activities at Aircraft and Sub-System Level, Systems Validation & Verification, Systems Integration and Testing, and support for FAA certification documents. This position reports directly to the SEIT Manager.
Specific responsibilities include
Develop Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) models for systems of system and provide MBSE/SysML expertise and related support to the entire systems engineering team
Perform functional and logical decomposition of system and develop requirements, perform three-way mapping of requirements, functions and logical elements.
Development and Review of airplane systems and sub-systems requirements, preferably Avionics, Flight Controls, Integrated Modular Avionics, Propulsion, Cabin Networks. Deploy Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodology.
Proficient in performing functional and logical decomposition of system and develop requirements, perform three way mapping of requirements, functions and logical elements.
Performs System analyses activities for safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, regulatory and certification.
Support Aircraft and System Safety Analysis (ASA, SSA), Fault Hazard Assessment, & Design Assurance analysis of avionics and airplane systems.
Creates Fault Tree Analysis, Failure Mode Effects Cause Analysis, Safety Assessment Reports, in accordance with ARP 4761/ MIL STD 882 and ARP 4754A.
Support in performing aircraft-level Failure Mode, Effects & Criticality Analysis (FMECA).
Leads Planning, defining, and verifying System Safety requirements to ensure design integrity and safety for certification of aircraft systems/subsystems for full lifecycle.
Develop System Test Procedures and Qualification Test Procedures.
Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify a lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.
Develop the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.
Proficient in the use of multiple architecture frameworks, tools, and methodologies.
Teach/mentor Systems team members about Boeing Systems processes and how to use Systems tools.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
This position requires 2-18 years of demonstrated experience on Systems Engineering Activities which includes developing and reviewing system requirements for airplane systems, preferably, Avionics, Flight Controls, Integrated Modular Avionics, Propulsion, Cabin Networks.
This position requires experience with Aerospace Domain Knowledge, MBSE/SYSML, System design, Tools and processes.
Experience and familiarity with Cameo Enterprise Architecture and/or Rational Rhapsody or any Systems Architecture tool software is preferred.
Experience in systems architecting or model-based systems engineering (MBSE) of aircraft systems.
Hands on experience on verification and validation of systems requirements is mandatory.
Hands on Experience on IBM Rational DOORS in Requirements Management is required.
Good experience on System design of Avionics LRU components is preferred.
Familiarity of Reliability calculations such as FMEA, FTA and Reliability Tools is an added advantage.
Knowledge and understanding of various workflows, in an end to end product development with a system / system-of-systems environment is preferred.
Hands on experience on VBA scripting/ Java scripting/ Python scripting.
Familiarity with the Agile/SAFe Process is recommended.
Strong written, verbal communication with engineers, management, and non-engineering support staff.
Desired Skills/Preferred Qualifications:
Experience on Modelling Frameworks like SysML, UAF, ToGAF, DoDAF, MagicGrid.
Hands on experience or understanding of any PLM, preferably 3DExperience platform.
INCOSE certification on Systems Engineering is an added advantage.
Experience in application of SAE ARP 4754 / 4761 / MIL Standards for Systems Engineering aspects
Good understanding of DO 254/DO178C standards is desired.
Familiarity with DO 160 Standards / MIL STD 704 & MIL STD 461 requirement is desired.
Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 1 to 18 Years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+1 years' related work experience.)
