About Us:

Markaz is on the mission to supercharge the rails of e-commerce for the common man in Pakistan. We want to empower the Pakistani middle class, with a special focus on women who are currently not part of the Pakistani financial ecosystem, and help establish hundreds of thousands of new online entrepreneurs in the coming years. We enable anyone in Pakistan to start their online business with zero investment from the comfort of their home and make money by selling products through different social media channels like WhatsApp and Facebook. All they have to do is download the Markaz app, get access to 1,000s of products, share them on their social media with a profit margin and get orders. Markaz will take care of everything else: delivery, payments, customer experience and profit dissemination.

About the Role:

We’re currently seeking a senior associate - logistics to join our growing team. The candidate will be working in close coordination with the leadership to ensure E2E management of logistics operations. The ideal candidate will be a high performing individual who has a track record of working in high pressure situations, leading projects and innovations and devising new strategies. We’re looking for someone who's detail oriented, an outstanding communicator, exceptional leader, and even better strategist. 

Responsibilities:

• Lead daily control meetings, identifying issues and actions to be taken, while ensuring effective communication and coordination across teams.
• Analyse performance related data to figure out failures within the logistics operations, implementing corrective actions to drive continuous improvement.
  
• Consult with various internal and external business units to identify opportunities for improvements in the supply-chain network, fostering cross-functional collaboration.
• Provide oversight for budgetary aspects, scheduling, and project databases, regularly reporting progress, plans, and any potential cost or schedule deviations.
• Onboard potentially new 3PLs and manage the existing ones to maintain a good working relationship.
• Manage compliance by using technology, ensuring adherence to high-quality logistics operations.
• Support the execution of logistics and warehousing strategies, aligning them with the company's objectives and contributing to their successful implementation.
• Implement financial metrics and associated key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the performance of the network and vendors, providing data-driven insights for decision-making.
  
• Maintain awareness of industry and global logistics trends, staying updated on market developments and incorporating relevant practices into the company's operations.
  

Qualification and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field
• Preferably 2+ years’ experience in operations and logistics.
• High level of independence, self-confidence and responsibility
• Experience working in a fast paced and dynamic environment
• Able to work cohesively, detail-oriented, organised with the ability to multitask
• Strong Communication and negotiation skills
• A meticulous problem solver
