The project:
This is an opportunity to work on one of the largest programmes in Saudi Arabia. This unique project consists of major mixed-use development including sports facilities, entertainment, and arts along with all associated infrastructure.

Responsible for planning, implementing, and controlling the efficient and effective flow, storage and staging of materials, plant and equipment, people, services, and related information from point of origin to point of consumption for the purpose of supporting the main contractors deliver the permanent assets with the project.


The logistics team consists of four sub-teams: Planning and Controls, Delivery, Operations and Commercial. 


We are looking for a construction logistics professionals reporting to the Logistics Lead, who will lead a team to operate freight deliveries, staff and workers transport, materials storage and delivery, access and egress, site roads and footpaths, construction utilities and shared consumable materials facilities.


You’ll be responsible for:


  • Planning, implementation, and operation of the project Delivery Management System.


  • Introduce and operate an abnormal load freight process.


  • Planning and implementing the operations of the Freight Management and Park and Ride Facilities.


  • Traffic management for all construction roads and footpaths, ensuring traffic is flowing efficiently and safely.


  • Site Management for all areas under control of the logistics team.


  • Reporting and monitoring of logistics activities to ensure upcoming issues are identified and controlled.


  • Liaising with key stakeholders, both internal and external, including the emergency services. Developing, maintaining, and implementing the Site Security Plan.


  • Overseeing the Site Security Operations. Developing the scope for all Logistics Operations Contractors and overseeing the procurement and contract management managed by the commercial team.


  • Developing and implementing the Project Materials Control policies, process and systems in line with the Asset Contractors requirements. 


You’ll need to have:


  • At least 5 years’ experience of logistics and security operations gained within large and complex construction programmes.


  • Will have implemented freight management systems and operations.


  • Experience of materials control systems with a construction environment. 


  • Qualified project manager with good knowledge of contract management. 


  • Excellent communications skills with the ability to liaise and communicate with government officials, emergency services officers and the Client’s directors and SMEs with confidence. 


  • A relevant degree qualification or equivalent experience.


  • Membership of APM, RICS, CIOB, ICE, AACE, IRM, IEMA or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.


  • Experience with recognised international consultancy organisation.


  • Necessary visa criteria for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and relevant work experience working on high-valued projects/programmes for a project management consultancy business, which are required for immigration and client approval.


You’ll also have:


  • Ability to persuade and influence stakeholders and colleagues to accept policies and proposals and recommendations.


  • Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.


  • Being able to tackle problems that do not have an obvious solution.


  • Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working.
