Purpose
Develop a competitive pipeline of varieties of a crop in line with Enza zaden's long term vision, that meet internal agreed production and sales requirements and external market needs, and bring added value.

Key accountabilities
1. Planning of all activities of a breeding project:Translation of the set Breeding targets into an operational breeding plan.
2. Preparation of all activities of a breeding project.
3. Execution of the activities of a breeding project:Making theright plant and line selections on critical moments in the breeding cycle.
4. Maintaince of detailed records throughout the breeding cycles.
5. Decision-making to advance material to R2 and planning of trial producions and screening trials.
6. Handover of R3 material to Seed Production acccording the defined specifications and registration in the designated sytem (currently Varmas).
7. Implemention of developed technology and traits in the breeding program.

* Sales Representatives, Product Specialists - Proactively cooperate during joint market visits to obtain information on market trends and direction for product models and align the Enza message
* Senior Scientist, Biotech Breeders - Stay up to date with the latest technologies
* SO and Seed Production - Handoverof R3 and P2 material and Producibility information to Seed Production
* PAT teams - Member of a PAT team and provide input to the team
* Assistant Breeders and Breeding Technicians - Exchange knowledge and material

Required certifications, knowledge and skills
* Bachelor of Science
* Thorough knowledge of plant breeding, modern methods of breeding and phytopathology
* Well acquainted with various cultivation techniques
* Sufficient market knowledge
* Proficient in the English and local language, both written and verbal

* Occasionally working under pressure
* Working in conditioned climate/high temperatures
* Working outside in different weather conditions
* Frequent domestic and international business traveling

* Is able to independently run an entire breeding program
* Typically responsible for one segment/breeding program
* Functional coaching of less experienced Breeders and Assistant Breeders
* Works cross-functionally
* Has an active role in decision-making within the PAT teams
* Masters product advancement
Senior Breeder (job level 11)
* Typically > 7 years relevant work experience
* May be acountable for leading, developing, motivating and coaching a small team.
* Responsible for multiple segments/breeding programs
* Higher complexity in terms of technology, organisation and geography
* Proven success as a Breeder is required
