description
In this role, you serve patients by preparing medications, giving pharmacological information to a multidisciplinary healthcare team and monitoring patient drug therapies.
furthermore, you will be responsible for:
- Prepares medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders, detecting therapeutic incompatibilities;
- Dispenses medications by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals;
- Controls medications by monitoring drug therapies; advising interventions;
- Completes pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing Pharmacy assistants work flow, verifying their preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals, verifying order entries, charges, and inspections;
- Provides pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals, counseling patients on drug therapies;
- Develops hospital staff's pharmacological knowledge by participating in clinical programs, training pharmacy staff and health care professionals;
- Protects patients and staff by adhering to infection-control protocols;
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations;
- Maintains pharmacological knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies;
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed;
- Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety and environmental, standards;
- Attends timely all phone queries;
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned;
- Ensures safety standards are compiled (occupational and patient safety).
Skills
skills & competencies:
- Excellent communication skills, in both English and Arabic;
- You are living in the UAE;
- Advise the patient on how to take his or her medications.
- Familiarity with drug administration and health safety procedures;
- Knowledge of computers and drug prescription software;
- Excellent knowledge of pharmaceutical therapy.
- Analytical skills;
- Strong numerical skills;
- Attention to detail.
education & qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy;
- 1-year experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified;
- Holder or eligibility of DOH license.
