Envision Employment Solutions is currently looking to hire a Head of Technology Services & Operations Sector for one of our partners, a multinational financial services company.
Summary:
The role requires an experienced IT senior management member who is a self-starter, assertive, confident, and enthusiastic about being part of the company's IT leadership team heading Technology Services and IT operations. This role will need to fulfill the company's strategic direction, digital transformation, and future growth. This role requires collaboration with all interested parties at Regional and Group levels to establish effective relationships between stakeholders, including the relationship between AFRICA Technology Centre and Group and Regional technology functions as well as business functions, to ensure the Technology systems are secure and stable, commensurate with the best interest of shareholders, customers and employees.

Responsibilities:


  • Sets strategy for managing the portfolio of technology services and IT operations management.
  • Aligns technology service and IT operations management with organizational strategies, objectives, and emerging opportunities. Promotes the opportunities Technology offers the organization, including the feasibility of change and its likely impact.
  • Authorizes the establishment of new or modified technology service delivery capabilities. Integrates in-house and outsourced options and delivery options leveraging multiple service delivery capabilities.
  • Coordinates the promotion, acquisition, and implementation of Technology systems and services in close liaison with those responsible for management and strategy.
  • Engages with and influences senior-level stakeholders and project teams, ensuring that Technology Services and IT operations management provide agreed levels of service and data integrity.
  • Authorizes allocation of resources for the planning, developing, and delivering of all technical services and products. Maintains an overview of the contribution of technology services to organizational success.
  • Directs the creation and review of a cross-functional, enterprise-wide approach and culture for high-performance computing.
  • Establishes and communicates the need and rationale for organizational structure and culture change.
  • Secures organizational commitment and resources needed for organizational and culture change.
  • Directs the identification, evaluation, and adoption of new or existing technologies to improve business processes.
  • Ensuring projects and change initiatives meet objectives on time and within budget by increasing employee adoption and usage.
  • Identifies and manages resources needed for budgeting, estimating, planning, developing, and delivering a specified portfolio of technology services and systems.
  • Engages with and influences stakeholders to ensure that services are developed and managed to meet agreed-on service levels, security requirements, and other quality standards. Plans and oversees the implementation of processes and procedures, tools, and techniques for monitoring and managing the performance of technology services.
  • Aligns the contribution of specified systems and services to clearly stated organizational and financial goals and performance targets. Recommends options for sourcing — whether in-house, outsourced, or a combination.
  • The governance framework's definition, implementation, and monitoring are directed to meet the organization's obligations under regulation, law, or contracts.
  • Provides leadership, direction, and oversight for an organization's governance activities.
  • Directs the development, implementation, delivery, and support of an enterprise IT security strategy aligned with the business strategy.
  • Assures stakeholders that the organization can deliver its obligations with an agreed balance of benefits, opportunities, costs, and risks.
  • Aligns business strategies, enterprise transformation, and technology strategies across regions and at group level.
  • Embeds strategic business process improvement into the governorship of the organization.
  • Embeds innovation processes throughout business units and links strategy execution with innovation.
  • Aligns organizational and individual objectives, measures, and rewards with innovation.
  • Puts in place mechanisms to reinforce and embed organizational and culture change. Acts as a role model for desired behaviors and sets consistent standards and expectation

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or Communication Engineering.
  • Master’s degree is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in Technology Services with 7 in a director-level position, out of which 5 years in the banking / financial sector.
  • Up to date with the current (and future) levels of IT security, threats, and vulnerabilities that could impact the company's digital and financial assets.
  • Solid knowledge of the information technology function and operations in provider organizations (preferably banking settings)
  • Experience in management infrastructure technology (i.e., AIX, Storage, Network and Systems technologies, IT security technologies and vulnerabilities, Systems Integration)
  • Understanding of the new digital transformation technologies, Private Cloud, Collaboration and BYOD technologies, Virtualization, Automation & Orchestration
  • Mastering the service-oriented process model (Service Strategy, Design, Transition, Operations) and continual service improvement
  • Strategic capability planning
  • Understanding of "Value Management" (what is the value and how is it measured)
  • Ability to think creatively to develop innovative solutions and approaches.
  • Influences policy and strategy formation
  • Performs highly complex work activities covering technical, financial, and quality aspects.
  • Creatively applies a wide range of technical and/or management principles.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
