Designation : Process Engineer

Reporting To : Lead Engineering

Work Location : Mumbai (12-18months) / USA (afterwards)

Key Point to Note for the role offered / Kind Attention :

• Process Engineer position will be initially based in India on Evonik India Payroll for 12 to 18 months tenure considering the eligibility process required to get eligible for Work Visa in US.
• After successful Visa application / eligibility to work in US, individual will be transferred to Evonik Corporation based in USA on their payroll ( US Salary & benefits applicable)
• Individual will need to relocate to the Site location in USA once the Visa process is completed and exit from Evonik India employment.
  Purpose of the position 
• Recommend, initiate, and implement measures for further development of Evonik production and operations processes to maintain and ensure state of the art process technology and operation management methodologies to minimize costs, provide high product quality and to maximize plant and product availability for defined Evonik business groups and affiliates.
• Incumbent will promote and maintain the principles of, and responsibilities related to Responsible Care within his/her assigned areas of responsibility and as defined in the RC 14001 management system.

Key Responsibilities :

• Provide technical support in basic engineering, detail engineering, construction, and commissioning of production processes.
• Prepare basic process documentation (PFDs, P&IDs, Equipment Specifications) on capital projects and/or service requests.
• Independently completes assigned technical assignments.
• Support projects with universities/research institutes/equipment manufacturers to find advanced, more efficient technologies and methodologies.
• Provide exchange of information with other Evonik plants to utilize these valuable resources for improvements. Participates in technology transfers to and from Europe.
• Provide strategies for future development in cooperation with production, research, and development, applied technology and superiors. In addition, provide development work, define the scope for development projects, as well as prepare time schedules and cost estimates.
• Discuss, analyse, and define scope of work with clients (for example, Evonik business lines) to prepare proposals.
• Act in assigned roles within capital investment projects (Lead Process Engineer or Process Engineer).
• Collaborate on global basis with other departments within Process Technology & Engineering to ensure exchange of relevant information regarding projects, clients, and service offerings.
• Develop and deploy new process engineering service offerings that provide value to clients.
• Lead cross-functional teams of 2 to 3 employees.
• Provide technical guidance of up to 2 process engineers, design engineers, or assistant engineers.

Education & Experience required :

• Bachelor or Masters degree in Chemical Engineering with minimum 8 -10
•  years of relevant experience in process technology and/or operations management.
• The incumbent requires knowledge of process techniques in mechanical and thermal processes, process design, manufacturing technology, automation of processes and/or methodologies of operations management.
• The incumbent most be able to work and excel in a project team environment and adapt to variable situations
