Senior Lead Refining Process Engineer – Expat (Khobar, KSA)
KBR is seeking a Senior Lead Refining Process Engineer to help support major refining projects. This role will serve as a Lead Process Engineer during project execution.
***This position will start in Houston, TX then mobilize to Al Khobar, KSA for 16 + months ***
Responsibilities:
- PFD development, P&IDs, hydraulic calculations, relief valve calculations, flare sizing
- Manage a moderate size team of Process engineers
- Support FEED in the Refining sector
- Responsible for the study, design, and specification, and services related to Refineries, Petrochemicals, and Offsites & Utilities
- Licensor coordination, evaluation, and integration
- Experience (functional and leadership) in PDP development and front-end process engineering activities is preferred
- May also be responsible for the development of process simulations and advanced controls/process optimization.
- Provides technical guidance to less experienced engineers
- Plans, schedules, and conducts working requiring independent judgment and adaptation of engineering techniques
Education, Experience, & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
- 10 + years directly related experience with average experience of 20 + years
- Pre-FEED, FEED, EPC experience in refining sector
- Designing or supervising the Process Engineering deliverables associated with Refining Units, Amine Recovery, Sulphur Recovery, Utilities and Offsites
- Proven ability to provide technical guidance to designers and less experienced process engineers.
- Demonstrated leadership of process design on capital projects, including responsibility for budget, schedule, and change management
- Knowledge of Aspen, Pro-II software suites is desired
- Experience leading small to large design groups
- Able to be the project and client focal point for resolution of complex process issues and attendance in key meetings (P&ID reviews, HAZOP, etc)
