About the Role  


We are seeking a proactive and dynamic professional to join our Engineering organization in  primarily managing Release Management deliverables. 
 
In this role, you will primarily be working on Release Management task, the candidate will work on Release Management tasks. Also expected to provide debugging support during technical bridge calls for critical outages and degradation.   
The candidate is also responsible for creating knowledge management documentation and submitting platform tickets for any software defects they have identified and reproduced in lower environments. He/she will also be part of an on-call rotational support during weekends and after-hours support as needed.   


To succeed in this role:  


The candidate should have hands-on experience working as a release manager with strong proven experience and working knowledge in supporting cloud hosted production applications deployments.  


Core Technology Skills  


  • Strong working knowledge in Atlassian’s ADLM JIRA and ServiceNow 


  • Strong working hands on experience in release management process 


  • Strong working knowledge in Agile methodologies and ITIL framework 


  • Good hands-on experience in writing release notes 


  • Good hands-on experience in managing deployment calls 


  • Good hands-on experience in running release readiness reviews calls 


  • Good documentation experience in confluence 


  • Should have good connect across multiple teams such as scrum, PMO, Product. 


  • Able to publish metrics on code management and code defects as part of metrics gathering. 


Functional Skills  


  • RM is responsible for scheduling, planning & controlling the software's development and delivery process. 


  • As an RM, you will be working hand in hand with the various Development and DevOps teams daily to make them deliver the features & services on time and will manage both IT operations and developers. 


  • You will be responsible for the Release Management lifecycle that involves the stages such as scheduling the release, coordinating between teams, and deployment of release as per the schedule and within budget.  


  • As an RM, you will have to work closely with the End – End Testing teams and performance testing teams for completing the testing stage and deployment stage in Non-Prod environment also work closely with the application production team.  


  • You will have to maintain proper coordination between these teams to update the project related information.  


  • You need to define the strategic usage of release management tools to manage the revenue for the release. Overall, you will be concerned with planning, testing, tracking, release, deployment, communication, and risk management.  


Responsibilities:   


  • Manage risks & resolving challenges that impact release scope, quality, & schedules  


  • Planning release windows and cycles across portfolios, components 


  • Manage relationships working on interrelated processes, change approvals 


  • Communicating crucial release plans and changes  


  • Measure & monitor progress to achieve a timely software release within defined budgetary limits and defined quality standards  


  • Coordinating processes between different teams (possibly in various locations)  


  • Communicating necessary release details to business teams 


  • Managing, planning, and negotiating release activities 


  • Initiating and overseeing progressive release processes 


  • Coordinate Org release content & efforts based on OS updates & third-party apps 


  • Producing deployment, implementation, and run books plans 


  • Conducting release readiness and milestone reviews 


  • Maintaining release schedules for every core service & ensuring it aligns with major vendors and other stakeholders 


  • Working with release engineers to comprehend code merges & branch ramifications  


  • Leading and coordinating checklist and deployment plan execution  


  • Developing automation and release management tools along with scripts necessary for the construction, continuous integration, and deployment of software release  


  • Researching new software development and the best methods and techniques for managing configurations regarding a business’s existing needs 


  • Ensuring that releases operate as per expectations  


  • Ensuring that requirements are clear across dependent project streams with an effective release 


  • Initiating and overseeing the development of technical guides and training for external functionality  


  • Managing the development of deliverables into production environments 


  • Validating release notes 


  • Deployment management of deliverables to the test environment particularly guaranteeing that the external dependent items are available during the test runtime 


  • Availability for all CR and deployments. 



Qualifications

Education and Experience:   
    


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field  


  • 8 years equivalent work experience
