Job Description
The role is to lead and be responsible for
ensuring that all aspects of Engineering Operations support and Future
Engineering Support System (FESS) activities are proactively supported to meet
customer and business drivers / priorities.
Core Activity
The role is responsible for
ensuring that all aspects of Engineering Operations support to the Flight
Operations Manager and BAE/BSL Maintenance Managers in providing an
extraordinary level of technical liaison and support to meet customer and
business drivers / priorities. Included within the scope of this role are:
- The delivery of an efficient Engineering
Operations support function tailored to the requirements of the QEAF customer.
- Acting as the key interface between the
Typhoon squadrons and the QEAF customer.
- Ensuring that continued airworthiness
and maintenance activities on Typhoon aircraft have been carried out iaw BAE
Systems approved data and the CAMSS Maintenance Organization Exposition.
- Briefing the QEAF Operations Officer or
deputy to discuss current aircraft serviceability states and configurations.
- Providing engineering
solutions/explanations to multiple stakeholder technical questions.
Additionally the role will
ensure integration between the Customer facing organization, Operations,
Engineering and the other influencing Functions to ensure requirements are
adequately addressed and governance is maintained.
The
role holder may be required
to carry out additional or alternative tasks from time to time, subject to
holding the appropriate qualifications.Key Accountabilities- To work for the Flight Operations
Manager and Maintenance Managers in support to the Senior Typhoon Instructor
Pilot and respective Customer interfaces to develop solutions and plans,
allowing them to focus on their operational activities.
- Respond to requests from internal and
external customers for advice and pro-actively inform senior management
decision-making to ensure due consideration is given to the business
implications of options presented.
- Keep up to date in areas of expertise
in order that the Customer and business is aware of and able to take account or
advantage of new developments.
- Develop and maintain links within the
interfacing communities through effective stakeholder engagement.
- Ensure compliance with statutory,
regulatory and corporate requirements and external standards within areas of
specialism and keep abreast of changes which may impact the business.
- First
line support to the users.
Requirements- Higher National Diploma / Certificate
(or equivalent) in a relevant applicable subject is desirable.
- Practical experience in an Operational
environment is essential.
- Engineering Operations experience –
military preferred.
- Fast jet experience with exposure to electronic
Engineering Support Systems for Typhoon or a comparable system from another
platform.
- In-service support knowledge
specifically around Continuing Airworthiness within a maintenance organization.
- The Eng Ops Ctrl will be suitable to be
cleared for access to sensitive (secret) information.
- Substantial knowledge of the theory, best practice and practical application of FESS activities.
- Flight Servicing Certificate.
- Weapons Load Certificate.
- Maintenance
Work Order management.
