Job Description

Position: HSE Engineer (KSA National)
Job Summary: We are seeking a proactive and experienced HSE Engineer to ensure the implementation of approved safety plans and promote a strong safety culture within our construction projects. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring compliance, conducting audits, and providing technical advice to the project team on health, safety, and environmental matters. Your objective will be to identify and address potential risks, ensure prompt closure of non-compliance issues, and improve overall HSE performance. The ideal candidate should have Middle East project experience, be self-motivated, and possess a NEBOSH IGC certification or equivalent.

Responsibilities:



Ensure the Main Contractor adheres to their approved safety plan and escalate non-compliance through the issuance of NCR/CAR reports.
Conduct quarterly HSE audits, analyze results, and present findings to the project team.
Keep a record of identified unsafe acts or conditions and ensure timely closure of these issues.
Prepare and submit a monthly HSE project performance report.
Provide technical advice and support to the project team on HSE matters, including legislation, standards, and best practices.
Lead weekly project HSE site walks and meetings.
Monitor project incidents, ensure proper investigation, and initiate appropriate action to prevent recurrence.
Conduct 'Incident Review' for significant incidents and issue comprehensive reports to the HSE Manager.
Assist project teams in evaluating HSE considerations during the selection of service providers, LDC, and Contractors.
Monitor the Main Contractor's project HSE risk register to highlight critical risks and ensure its up-to-date maintenance.
Liaise with the employer and resident engineers to influence and drive change in HSE performance and safety culture.
Follow internal incident procedures for reporting significant incidents as per company guidelines.
Monitor HSE issues identified during workplace inspections, audits, and incidents, and ensure the implementation of corrective actions.
Conduct and document weekly project HSE inspections.

Experience/Required Skills:



Minimum 1 year of Middle East project experience.
Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
Comfortable working outdoors on construction sites for extended periods.
Previous experience working for a Main Contractor is preferred.
Experience working with a Supervision Consultant or PMC is advantageous.

Qualifications:



Minimum 4 years of academic and industry health & safety experience in engineering, architecture, or construction.
NEBOSH IGC certified or equivalent.
