 PIPING DESIGNER (UPSTREAM)

PUPROSE OF THE ROLE:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Piping Design to join our upstream operations team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the design, development, and optimization of piping systems for our upstream oil and gas projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of high-profile projects while working in a collaborative and dynamic environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES:

1. Piping Design and Layout: Develop detailed piping designs, layouts, and isometrics in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

2. Material Selection and Specification:  Collaborate with procurement and engineering teams to select appropriate piping materials based on project requirements, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.

3. Hydraulic Analysis: Conduct hydraulic analysis to optimize piping configurations, ensuring efficient fluid flow and pressure management within upstream systems.

4. 3D Modeling: Utilize CAD software to create accurate 3D models of piping systems, facilitating visualization and clash detection during design reviews.

5. Technical Documentation: Prepare technical documents, including piping specifications, data sheets, material requisitions, and technical bid evaluations for vendor selection.

6. Coordination and Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including process engineers, mechanical engineers, and structural designers, to integrate piping systems into overall project designs.

7. Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure compliance with international codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ASME, API, ISO) throughout the piping design process, conducting quality checks and inspections as necessary.

8. Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify potential hazards and risks associated with piping systems and implement mitigation measures to enhance safety and reliability.

9. Project Support: Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and startup phases, addressing design queries and assisting with troubleshooting as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.

- Minimum of 7 years of experience in piping design, preferably in the upstream oil and gas sector.

- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, ) and piping design tools (e.g., PDS, & MICROSTATION, CAESAR II) is required.

- Strong knowledge of piping codes and standards, including ASME B31.3, API 570, and API 1104.

- Experience with hydraulic analysis software (e.g., PIPE-FLO, AFT Fathom) is desirable.

- Familiarity with project management principles and practices.
