Job Description

Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and deliver English language lessons tailored to the developmental needs and interests of Kindergarten students.
  2. Create a supportive and stimulating classroom environment that encourages active participation, exploration, and creativity.
  3. Teach foundational English language skills, including listening, speaking, reading, and writing, through interactive activities and games.
  4. Integrate age-appropriate literacy activities, storytelling, and rhymes to promote language development and early literacy skills.
  5. Incorporate multicultural literature and diverse learning materials to foster an inclusive and culturally responsive classroom environment.
  6. Assess students' language proficiency and progress using a variety of formative and summative assessment methods.
  7. Provide individualized support and guidance to students who require additional assistance in English language learning.
  8. Collaborate with colleagues, including KG educators and specialists, to align English language instruction with the overall curriculum and learning objectives.
  9. Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding students' progress, achievements, and areas for growth.
  10. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices, stay updated on best practices in early childhood education, and promote continuous improvement.

Skills

Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Education, English, Early Childhood Education, or a related field.
  2. Teaching certification or licensure for Kindergarten education, with a specialization in English language teaching preferred.
  3. Previous experience teaching English to young learners, preferably in a Kindergarten or early childhood education setting.
  4. Knowledge of early childhood development and age-appropriate teaching methodologies.
  5. Familiarity with English language acquisition theories and strategies for teaching English as a second language (ESL) or English as a foreign language (EFL).
  6. Creativity and enthusiasm for designing engaging and interactive learning experiences for young children.
  7. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  9. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their holistic development.
  10. Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students and respond effectively to changing circumstances in the classroom.
